Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari recently welcomed and flagged off a State-wide rally to promote blood donation across all districts of Maharashtra from Raj Bhavan, Mumbai.
The rally organised by the city-based Devta Life Foundation which started from here on October 2 under the leadership of Chairman of the Devta Life Foundation Kishore Bawane. While meeting the Governor in Mumbai, Kishore Bawane highlighted the significance of the event. He told the Governor that the objective of the rally is to travel to all districts of Maharashtra and organise blood donation camps before returning to Nagpur October 15.
Complimenting the members of the rally, the Governor observed that there is a need to promote blood donation in Maharashtra in the backdrop of shortage of blood in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. He appealed to the members to sustain the blood donation awareness drive in future also.
Chairman of the Foundation Kishore Bawane, Nilima Bawane, Sarika Pendse, Sanjay Pendse, Shekhar Soni and others were present.Vice Chairman of the foundation Kasturi Bawane gave the opening remark while advisor of the foundation Vivek Jugade proposed vote of thanks.
Potential volunteers are invited to fill out an application form providing basic contact details. The benefits of volunteering include joining a dedicated community and spreading awareness of the foundation's causes.
